Hi, I’m Maryam!
I’m 52 years old, married to my best friend, and a proud mama to two very spoiled cats. I’m also the co-founder of Cut Da Carb, an extra small family-owned business that has grown because of customers like you. 💛
There is nothing fancy here. No perfect founder photo day. No polished corporate story. Just a real person, a small team, a lot of flour, a lot of long days, and full transparency.
Most founders probably schedule a beautiful photo shoot for their About page. I work seven days a week, I’m usually covered in flour, and I honestly do not have time for perfect photos. I also happen to be terrible at selfies!
So this is my version of an About page, real, honest, and not very fancy!😆
Who You Are Buying From
When you order from us, you are not buying from a giant corporation.
You are buying from me, my husband, our small team, and a bakery where real people are working hard every day to bake your breads fresh to order.
Everyday, you’ll find my husband and me right there in the bakery with our employees, covered in flour, checking batches, helping with production, cleaning, packing, and doing whatever needs to be done.
This business is personal to us. ❤️
The Truth Behind This Business
Every dollar that has come into this business has gone right back into it.
Equipment. Safety. Certifications. Compliance. Bakery improvements. Better systems. Better processes. Better ways to serve you.
Getting SQF certified and maintaining the level of safety required for food production has cost us a lot, but it was important to us. We are incredibly proud to hold that certification as an extra small family-owned business.
I am still a renter. I do not pay myself. I have worked seven days a week on this business for the past 10 years, and I will keep going for as long as I possibly can.
This is not glamorous. It is hard. It is exhausting. But it is also deeply meaningful. 🙏
Baked Fresh To Order
Cut Da Carb breads are baked fresh to order, not mass-produced and left sitting on shelves for months.
That matters to us.
We care deeply about the quality, texture, and freshness of what you receive. It is one of the biggest reasons we have chosen to stay primarily online and ship directly to you.
It is harder this way, but it allows us to protect the product and give you the freshest bread possible.
Why We Work So Hard To Keep Prices Fair
Since launching Cut Da Carb in 2017, we have raised our price only one time.
At the same time, USPS and shipping rates have gone up almost every year, sometimes close to 10% annually. Ingredients, labor, packaging, utilities, equipment, and compliance costs have all increased too.
But we know times are tough for everyone.
That is why, instead of raising prices again, I am actually working on dropping our pricing closer to store-level prices whenever possible. I want more people to be able to afford our products, especially those who rely on them as part of their daily lifestyle.
As a small family-owned business, we do not have the buying power of large corporations. But we do everything we can to keep our prices fair while still paying our team, keeping our bakery open, and maintaining the quality and safety you expect from us.
Every order truly helps keep our doors open. 🫶
My Background
Before Cut Da Carb, my background was in risk management in financial field
I never imagined that one day I would be working inside a bakery, standing next to hot ovens, covered in flour, learning the reality of food production from the ground up.
This journey has humbled me more than I can explain.
It has taught me what hard physical work really feels like, and it has given me deep respect for every person who works behind the scenes to make food safely, consistently, and with care.

We are not perfect, but we care.❤️
We care about your order.

Maryam
